Full Time Police Officers

The Desloge Police Department continues accepting applications for the position of patrolman in order to maintain a list of eligible candidates for future hiring.

**We are currently accepting applications for Reserve Patrolman Positions.**

Part Time and Reserve Police Officers

We are accepting applications for part time and reserve officers on a case by case basis at the needs of the Desloge Police Department.

Requirements For ALL Positions

• Must be at least 21 years of of age
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a 470 hour Missouri P.O.S.T. certification or class "B" license or higher
• Must complete a written test, physical test and oral interview
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
• Must be willing to work shift work
• Must possess a valid drivers license
• Must pass a background check suitable for law enforcement work
• Must pass a drug test

Veteran's Preference

The Desloge Police Department actively recruits veterans of our armed forces for service in the Department. To claim a veteran's preference you must be able to answer yes to at least one of the following criteria:

1. I am an honorably discharged veteran who served in the Armed Forces of the United States on active duty, except for training, on or after December 7, 1941.
2. I am the spouse of a disabled veteran.
3. I am the spouse of a deceased veteran.
4. I served with the National Guard or Reserves, completed basic training as part of my service, and completed my National Guard or Reserve obligation.
